9/11/2019  Week 6 Retalhuleu Mission Today is my first day in the field! Luckily today is P-day so it is a little less stressful. Anyways my companion is named Elder QuiƱones, he is super cool! He is from Durango Mexico and he has been in this area for quite a while.  He is trying to speak English with me a little bit. He has been out for almost a year, and he has learned a lot of English from the other missionaries. He has already helped me many times, and it has only been one day. I think the Lord wanted to humble me on my first transfer, because my companion speaks mostly only Spanish, I already got sick on the first day, our apartment sink doesn´t work, and our shower is really cold. Sorry if it sounds like I´m complaining. I just wasn´t expecting all of this already haha. But seriously my companion is amazing, I don´t have any pictures yet but I will try to get some. Our area is one of the furthest away from the mission home.  We do have a microwave and a fridge and the bed i

9/4/2019 Week 5 Last Week! This is the last week of the MTC and I definitely am ready to leave but I don´t know if I´m truly READY to leave haha. I know it´s gonna be awesome and this month I have been trying to focus especially on Faith. I know that this is the Lord´s work as long as I have Faith in Him and if I´m doing what is right everything will go great! This week I want to testify of some scriptures in Mosiah, especially verses 14 and 15 in Mosiah 24.  These are some of my favorite verses of all time! And they have been especially helpful to me in the MTC preparing to leave for the Mission field. The voice of the Lord comes to Alma and his people during a time of affliction. And the Lord says ¨I will also ease the burdens which are put upon your shoulders, that even you cannot feel them upon your backs¨ and later it says ¨The Lord did strengthen them that they could bear up their burdens with ease, and they did submit cheerfully and with patience to all the will of the Lord

8/28/2019  Week 4 President Nelson! Hey everyone! This week has been a great week! A lot of the elders say that this place feels like a prison, but it´s nothing like prison! I mean sure we can never leave, sure we wear the same thing everyday, and sure we have three set meals every day with 1 hour of rec time, and our rooms are under camera surveillance. No I´m just kidding this place is great! The elders here are some of the coolest people ever! Everything is going great here! I finished my first time reading all the way through the Book of Mormon here, and we are reading the Book of Mormon again, and I am in Mosiah, and I read a verse in 1 Nephi that I wanted to share. Nephi and his brothers are quarreling a lot, and there is a verse that says as Lehi and Sariah are getting old,  that they ¨Having suffered much grief because of their children¨ and I just hope I didn't cause my parents too much stress being too crazy of a kid haha. Anyways I got another letter and packag

8/21/19  Week 3 This week was really awesome, but also tough. I had a few times of anxiety and stress, but this week was super cool! Today we got to go to the zoo, and I saw some super cool animals. The hippo was pretty awesome!  The bus ride to the zoo was about 45 minutes and driving around here is crazy so I am glad I don't have to drive anywhere myself.  The weather is really nice and everything is super green.  We also went to Wendys to eat which was really good because we all miss regular American food.  And now I get to email home so today has been Great! Sunday I had to give a talk in Sacrament meeting. Like Alex we have to write talks every week in  the language we are learning  so Spanish for me and we don't know when we will be asked to talk. Well I was called to give my talk on Sunday. I didn´t do great but it wasn't terrible either haha. We also got to watch a movie about the construction of the Salt Lake Temple! It was super cool to see how much the saints

8/14/2019  Week 2 It´s SO GREAT to hear from you guys, I honestly love to hear how everyone is doing! I miss you guys tons but it  helps to hear what you are all doing! HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM! Sorry I couldn´t tell you yesterday haha. Also  Happy Late Birthday to Karl and Lora!! And sorry if there is someone else I am missing. Anyways This week was much much better than the first week. My roommates are awesome and we have been  working on contacting and preparing to teach the first lesson. It is super cool to be able to express little ideas in  Spanish that I know to be true. This week I read in D&C 18  and verse two is a revelation to Oliver Cowdery about  how Heavenly Father testified unto him many times of the truthfulness of the work. I think it can also be  personalized for many of us. Heavenly Father has given us so many witnesses of the truthfulness of His gospel,  so now we have the duty to declare it to everyone!  Last P-day we got to go to the temple

8/7/2019  Week 1 Hey everyone!! It´s been a crazy first week here at the MTC in Guatemala, I´ve learned a lot and am getting kind of used to the mission life. I hope you guys received the picture with all of the missionaries at the Salt Lake Airport. There was honestly about 40 missionaries on the flight I was on. The teachers here are awesome! The food is pretty good, and everyone here is super nice! My companion is super cool and he is really good at Spanish.  M y companion's name is Elder Charles (Charlie) Wagner. He is from Minnesota. I have not been to the temple yet but I am going today around 2:00.   They have encouraged us to read the Book of Mormon in 20 days, and we are going to read it twice here in the MTC. Anyways it´s been super cool and I´ve learned a lot! Guatemala is super cool! The city here is similar or even bigger than Salt Lake City. The temperature is perfect probably in the high 70's and it rains a lot which is super nice. The other elders in my room
